Khaled successfully argued that the Council’s evidence was insufficient for a panel to find that the registrant had deliberately administered large doses of unprescribed sedatives to two patients. J was alleged to have administered large doses of sedatives to two patients, two years apart, in 2018 and 2020. In a hearing spanning three weeks over a six month period, following detailed cross examination of witnesses and securing additional disclosure, Khaled successfully argued that the evidence presented to the panel was weak and tenuous and controverted by a definitive forensic report which should have been obtained at the investigation stage. The panel found that there was no case to answer on all charges.
